Oratory of the Mexuar (Alhambra)
Short description of the monument

Located at the rear of the Mexuar, this oratory was restored in 1917, after being in a very damaged state due to the explosion of a powder magazine in 1590 at the “Darro” valley. The front wall had four small balconies, with twined arches and small windows. The “mihrab”, richly decorated, has a horseshoe arch with voussoirs, and presents several inscriptions that make reference to commands of the Koran, as well as praises to Mohamed V.
