El Museo de la Alhambra ocupa el ala sur de la planta baja del Palacio de Carlos V, se distribuye en siete salas, la primera de contenido temático y las restantes ordenadas cronológicamente.
It was created in 1870 to guard the numerous archaeological testimonies collected by the Provincial Commission of Monuments. In 1994 he was assigned to the Council of the Alhambra and Generalife.

The Fine Arts Museum occupies the top floor of the Palace. Its funds are Grenadines sculptures and paintings from the fifteenth to the twentieth century. Among the most significant include Limoges enamel, the Burial of Christ, the work of James Florentino, the thistle Still Fray Juan Sanchez Cotan and masterpieces of Baroque, Neoclassicism, Romanticism and painting grenadine of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, most notably Manuel Angeles Ortiz, whom the museum has an important collection of works of his series of "Albyzín" and "Ride of the cypresses."
