Brief description of the monument
It owes its name to the iron grille on the south wall, which has served as a balcony since 1655. The courtyard was probably built at the same time as the Rooms of Charles V. In the centre there is a stone fountain, and in the four corners stand centuries-old cypress trees.
To its right is the Hall of the Nymphs, named after some female marble statues now kept in the Palace of Charles V.
