History
The entrance to the Church of Santo Domingo is on a square in Granada's traditional Realejo quarter, with a statue of Fray Luis de Granada in its centre.
Building began in 1512, when it was part of the Monastery of Santa Cruz. It follows the late Gothic forms typical of Granada at that time, and the taste for pointed arches can be seen in its arches and vaults. The name of its designer and master builder is unknown.
It was completed in the Renaissance, Baroque and modern periods by several artists, who made it one of the most important buildings in Granada.
