Rodríguez-Acosta Foundation

History

On the Alhambra hill, just a few metres from the monument, stands the Carmen of the Rodríguez-Acosta Foundation, one of the most unusual buildings of its kind in Spain. Built in the first decades of the 20th century, it was declared a National Monument in 1982. It was the studio of the renowned painter José María Rodríguez-Acosta and houses a remarkable set of gardens and a large collection of pieces, from ancient to Modernist art, in a surprising route through the building that includes old caves and underground galleries.
