San Jerónimo Monastery

History

The Monastery of San Jerónimo is a Renaissance church and monastery in Granada, Spain.

It was founded by the Catholic Monarchs before the city was taken. It soon moved from Santa Fe to Granada, and building of the present complex began in 1504. Most of the work is by Diego de Siloé, although other architects and artists took part, such as Jacopo Florentino, Juan de Aragón, Juan Bautista Vázquez the Younger, Pedro de Orea and Pablo de Rojas, the last three from the Granada school.
